2010 Toyota Prius

2010 Toyota Prius Is One of the Hottest New Cars

The reviews are in, and the 3rd Generation Prius is a hit. The 2010 Toyota Prius went on sale earlier this year, and since then it has been wowing customers and critics alike. With enhancements in the Prius' technology, drivetrain, ride, and fit and finish, there's a lot to like.
New Features of the 2010 Prius

Parking Assist & Lane Keep Assist

The new 2010 Prius has the option for many state-of-the-art gadgets, like the intelligent parking assist, and the lane keep assist mechanisms. These options are similar to options available on some luxury cars. The parking assist mechanism takes the stress out of parallel parking. All you have to do is activate the system when approaching a parking spot and the system will take care of mapping out the spot, and backing the Prius into the space. The lane keep assist is a part of the Prius' cruise control system. This mechanism tracks your location in your lane and makes corrections if you start drifting out of your lane. With the Prius' advanced cruise control features, driving on the highway has never been easier.

More Horsepower
While these are options for your Prius, all Priuses come with an upgraded gas engine and an upgraded electric engine as well. These upgraded engines combine for an output of 134 horsepower, which is over 20% more horsepower than the combined 110 horsepower produced by the 2nd generation Prius.

Better MPG
Of course, the reason why many people buy a Prius is for the fuel economy, and the 3rd generation Prius doesn't disappoint. The new 2010 Prius offers an estimated MPG rating of 51 city / 48 highway. This means that even if you get stuck in traffic in Pittsburgh while taking a road trip, you don't need to worry about burning off countless gallons of pricey fuel.

Solar Roof
The 2010 Prius also has features which can't be found anywhere else. For example, the optional solar roof is a one-of-a-kind addition. This option adds a solar panel to the roof, which on sunny days collects solar energy while the car is parked. The solar energy is used to power a fan which exchanges the heated air inside the cabin for cooler outside air. Additionally, if you opt for the additional remote air conditioning system, you can activate the air conditioning when you are approaching the car to cool the interior even more. With these great technologies, you'll wonder why anyone ever gets into a steaming hot car in the summer.
