At Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, the Toyota Production System Support Center helped nurses to save time when sorting and delivering pharmacy supplies, allowing them to devote more time to patients. The Toyota Production Systems Support Center was founded in 1992 and was initially formed to help Toyota’s U.S. suppliers increase productivity, quality, and safety. Today, Toyota has used this tool to help more than 160 companies and numerous nonprofits, including Allegheny General Hospital and the American Red Cross in our local area.
