At the heart of the refreshed 2017 Toyota Highlander design is a reinvigorated six-cylinder powertrain. The new Toyota Highlander 3.5-liter V-6 employs Toyota D-4S technology with both direct and port fuel injection. These elements result in an impressive 296 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque — an increase of 25 horsepower and 15 pound-feet of torque. In addition to the new 3.5-liter V-6, the 2017 Toyota Highlander provides a standard 185-horsepower 2.7-liter four-cylinder and a modified hybrid powertrain.
